Since Wednesday 8 September and with the presence of the main references of the local publishing industry, Virtual Training Meetings for Book Fairs begin.

The first of the matches will begin at 17 hours and it will be the starting point of a series of six virtual talks destined to the book fairs that are carried out throughout the national territory.

It should be noted that it is an initiative of the Ministry of Culture of the Nation, through the Ministry of Cultural Development and its National Directorate for the Promotion of Cultural Projects.

In this way and as a tool, These talks are intended to strengthen the fairs as spaces for democratization, federalization and dissemination of reading, promotion of bibliodiversity and stimulation of the economy of the sector.

WEDNESDAY 8 OF SEPTEMBER – 17 h

Keys to build a bookcase or expand a bookcase catalog, with the booksellers of Volcán Azul (Córdoba) Olive Books (Rosario), The big fish (Mar del Plata) and MG Books (Cold)

The meeting proposes to establish a dialogue between bookstores with extensive catalogs, diverse and heterogeneous on how to open a library, how to offer a diversity of catalogs, how to meet new publishers, how to open accounts. At the same time, how to get new readers and know what each reader wants.

WEDNESDAY 15 OF SEPTEMBER – 17 h

How to organize a fair?, with Víctor Malumián (Publishers Fair), María Eugenia Jaldín and Rodolfo Pacheco (Jujuy Book Fair).

The meeting proposes to delve into how to organize a fair with few resources, how to bring the independent sector closer to readers, how to establish alternative ways of approaching new audiences. It will also address the importance of building support networks between fairs to strengthen the regions and the sector..

WEDNESDAY 22 OF SEPTEMBER – 17 h

Experiences of setting up work cooperatives, with Marcos Almada, by La Coop; Francisco Magallanes, from Malisia; Nacho Portela, by Sudestada and Lucía Aíta, Many Nuts.

In this talk we will learn about the experiences of cooperative union assembly linked to the book. The need to join together to reach more fairs, more bookstores, more readers. Strengths and problems to develop.

WEDNESDAY 29 OF SEPTEMBER – 17 h

Communication and book promotion, with Cecilia Bona (@bearer), Sebastian Lidijover (@sebalidijover) and Florencia Savarino and Cecilia Di Tirro from Leer Argentinos (@leerargentinos).

Strategies to expand the reading public and disseminate catalogs from different perspectives: social networks, reading workshops, newsletters, book club, events and festivals.

WEDNESDAY 6 OCTOBER – 17 h

Techniques for drafting projects and putting together a budget, with Clara Miravalle.

The cultural manager, teacher and researcher Clara Miravalle will give a workshop with tools to apply for grants, how to account for projects in the best possible way, how to build a budget and the corresponding renditions.

WEDNESDAY 13 OCTOBER – 17 h

Why are book fairs important?, with Alexander Dujovne (UNSAM / Conicet), Rachel Franco (Cultural manager, little editor) Y, Adriana Maggio (Secretary of Culture of the Province. from La Pampa) (we must add Adriana)

A meeting in which they will discuss the importance of book fairs both to exercise the right to culture, access to books and bibliodiversity to financially strengthen the publishing sector of each community.
