His rise to fame, his songs and his legacy, including the fight against the demons that led to her early death.
According to the director, His intention was to make a film “from Amy's perspective.”, through his eyes”.
From that point of view, “the only place where his truth could be found was in the lyrics of his songs and in the music”. For this reason, “I decided to tell his story through his own words, of the songs he wrote, of the songs where she poured her soul. She sang about her love, your pain, your disappointment, all of this impregnated with deep emotion and, often, “with a savagely biting humor”.
The title of the film takes the name of Winehouse's successful album that led her to conquer 5 Grammy Awards and sold more than 16 million copies.
