In March a new exhibition arrives at Gachi Prieto
From Thursday 4 March, the Gachi Prieto Gallery will present "The perception of distance", the first solo exhibition of the artist Guillermo Mena in the venue.
With texts by Sofía Dourron, the exhibition will be officially opened at 14.30 and can be visited until 19, with reservation of shifts that can be done by writing to info@gachiprieto.com.
In The perception of distance, Guillermo Mena explores the idea of a transitory dwelling in the room, drawing on the wall cloudy skies like ephemeral landscapes. Through a performance action, Mena's clouds will manifest in space as an image in process and in constant transformation, evidencing an insistent desire to preserve a present that is fading.
Mena is a young artist from Córdoba who perfected in Visual Arts at the Libero Pierini School of Fine Arts in Río Cuarto and previously the Technical Degree in Graphic Design at the Siglo Business University 21.
He exhibited his work in different museums in Argentina, highlighting the Emilio Caraffa Museum and the Genaro Pérez Municipal Museum of Fine Arts in Córdoba and the René Brusau de Resistencia Museum, Chaco.
In 2017 participated in the PAC Artists Program in Buenos Aires and received the Creation Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. Between 2018 Y 2019 participated in residencies and collective projects, among which the ACE Project spaces stand out, Contemporary Art Space of Montevideo, Uruguay, Red to Front, Shrimp Contemporary Art. In 2020 received the Raúl Urtasun scholarship & Frances Harley to participate in the BaiR Late Winter Program residency at the Banff Center for the Arts and Creativity in Banff, Alberta, Canada.
