Entre Ríos celebrates the centenary of the birth of Linares Cardozo
Linares Cardozo was one of the most emblematic figures within the culture of Entre Ríos and, upon completion 100 years after his birth, different tributes to the distinguished artist will be carried out.
Cardozo was born in the Entre Ríos city of La Paz, a 29 October 1920 Y, throughout their 75 years (died in 1996) left a rich legacy to the music of the coast, being until today one of its main exponents.
In that context, the direction of the city of Colón will carry out a recognition of his memory and work; also in their city they planted a timbo (tree) exactly where his remains lie.
On the other hand, from 18.30 and with live transmission through the Facebook account of the Municipality's Culture area, an act will be held in the Plazoleta de La Madre.
The city's literature teacher will participate in the initiative, Ivana Zermathen, who in addition to giving a brief review about life, work and history of Linares Cardozo, will perform a series of jackets of his own authorship.
The city of Concordia will also pay tribute, since the province of Entre Ríos has instituted by regulation the day of the Entre Ríos Chamarrita, musical style that Linares Cadozo was in charge of investigating and disseminating.
Finally the Chamber of Senators of the Province, and promotes the declaration of his song “I am entrerriano” as an emblematic folkloric theme of Entre Ríos.
