"The Hunter and the Good Nazi" is one of the great attractions of this season's theatrical billboard. Written by Mario Diament under the direction of Daniel Marcove, the work marks the first collaboration between Jean-Pierre Noher and Ernesto Claudio, two endearing friends on stage.

Ernesto Claudio and Jean-Pierre Noher

The play is presented every Monday (from 20.30) in El Tinglado and, since its release, has been carried out with sold out locations.

In the text, Simon Wiesenthal – famous Nazi hunter- received an unexpected visitor in his office at the Vienna Documentation Center. His visitor was none other than Albert Speer, former architect and Hitler's Minister of Armaments.

Noher puts himself in Wiesenthal's shoes, while the role of Albert Speer fell on Ernesto Claudio, who spoke exclusively with The sidewalk.

"I knew Mario for having done 'Blind Date' at Cervantes a few years ago, with Victor Hugo Vieyra”, Claudio explains about his relationship with the creator of the work. “It is a pleasure to make a text of him”.

When asked about reading the script in the first instance, the actor explained that "it was very good". But nevertheless, the key to his participation was Jean Pierre Noher.

Ernesto Claudio also, He has been performing on Corrientes Avenue with “Toc Toc” for four years. "I was fine, but they told me that Jean Pierre was there and I told them 'tomorrow we start rehearsing', the actor details between laughs, since despite not having read the script, "I did not care, with Jean Pierre we are close friends but we had not done anything together ".

What was it like preparing a character as complex as Albert Speer's??

I don't have a single method, it depends on many things: the personal moment of each one, the moment the work arrives or how you are in your life. In this case, being a real character, I investigated more. All his career and his fierce intelligence. He was a guy of enormous sagacity, but fundamentally the fact of working with my colleague. I was making mine as Jean Pierre prepared his.

was compromised, because as you can imagine I do not agree with Speer's ideology at all, but it is what attracted me also because the further away from me it is, is better. You have to work on it more, more effort and more desire. always want to work, but sometimes there are characters closer to one, more accessible. If it is a typical neighborhood porteño, I am closer. That did not happen here and I was very attracted to doing it.

On stage you can see the excellent chemistry with Jean Pierre. How has it been working with him??

Working with him pushed me to do the work. We had never done anything together and we have known each other for years. It was great working with him. I like the works I do as long as I can choose them. Sometimes you don't choose and you have to do them because you have to eat. Now my children are grown, but at the time I have had bitter tastes, doing things that I didn't like very much, but you had to eat. In this case, working with Jean Pierre has been wonderful., we meet we want.

As a career actor and of various genres, what does it mean to be part of a work with such historical weight?

Doing a work like this is very, very strong and committed. It's a big risk I love to take, We are excited and a little desperate to play for Latin people. I feel happy to do it, because it goes beyond the holocaust. You have to rescue the memory, truth and justice. That's what we try to convey in this show.

Mario Diament had the opportunity, on more than one occasion, to meet with the real Wiesenthal. Some of these things were reflected in the development of the work and even in the scenery.. Mario told us something, He told us that he was a really cool guy. There are photos in the work in which he appears with Elizabeth Taylor or the Dalai Lama, things that were true, explains Ernesto Claudio.

On the other hand, The actor recalled a coincidence at the time that "Jean Pierre had the idea that Wiesenthal was like Detective Columbo and when we talked to Mario he told us 'he's like a Columbo', a happy coincidence, since both knew how to interpret the fundamental characteristic. without advancing anything, It is a work with an interesting ending.”.

Personally, what did it mean to return to the theater after such a long break?

Going back to work has been a wonderful thing, we live in brave times. not only us, the whole world. Fortunately, it seems to have calmed down quite a bit., that we are quite well and I could more or less have a good time concentrating on reading, see what i could do. We rehearsed a play to do by Zoom that we finally couldn't do. I got a bit distracted, but coming back was wonderful. I do what I like in life and I never lose sight of that. I do what I choose and that is very valuable.

"The Hunter and the Good Nazi" It is a great success that sells out its presentations function after function. “Toc-Toc” is a consecrated work of the national theater. How does it feel to be part of shows so significant?

Talking to Dani Marcove, he told me "you're in two great goals" (laughs). The truth is yes, "Toc-Toc" has been on tour for four years, I toured the country like this and now I did it again here and yes, I'm happy. "The Hunter" is a taste that we wanted to give ourselves with Jean Pierre and it is fabulous. It is a surprise because the work works wonderfully well. Every Monday we fill and we are doing functions for the boys too. It is very nice to see how the boys are interested. It's fundamental. I am happy to do two things that work very well.

What are the plans for the rest of the year and the personal projects that may come?

I will continue with "Knock-Knock" until the 4 December and then we will do it again. It always comes back "knock-knock" (laughs). I go more than a thousand functions and I can not believe it. I think I already learned it (more laughter). The work will return to the Multitabaris in January. I asked Carlos Rottemberg how long we were going to continue and he tells me "as long as the public wants" and yes, the public wants.

With "The Hunter..." until the end of November and we will also return next year, I do not know when, But it's sure. I will have a participation in a miniseries on television, but the truth is that what I like the most is the theater, I come from there. I'm kind of satisfied doing these works and I also get a little tired, I'm not a boy anymore (laughs). I used to do many other things, this year I was in the cinema, also working with a Mexican production. It has been a year with a lot of work fortunately.
