Exhibitions at the CCEBA: Graphic humor, urban art and tribute to bread
The Cultural Center of Spain in Buenos Aires (comb), located in Paraná 1159, opens its doors to three new visual arts exhibitions selected in the Call for Exhibition Projects 2024.
Free entry, The exhibitions will be available until 7 from December, Monday through Friday 10 a 19 hours and on Saturdays 12 a 18.
In the living room 1, the exhibition “A sanguche and a stocking argue in the bathroom. Contemporary Argentine graphic humor” presents the best of Argentine graphic humor in a contemporary format. Curated by Amadeo Gandolfo, The exhibition highlights the ability of graphic humor to adapt to new media such as Instagram and memes, offering a look at its evolution in the digital age. Artists such as Agus Casot participate, Chavo Scrotito, Currichimi, Flora Marquez, and Gustavo Sala, among others.
Room 2 houses “Mutant Weathering”, a collaborative proposal by Julián Manzelli, Lucas Marin and Anahí Traba. This exhibition explores the interaction between the public and the private in a transformed urban space, where multiple species and symbols coexist and mutate. Among the participating artists are Oscar Brahim, Martín Churba and Carolina Simonelli, who reinterpret the constant transformation of this chaotic environment.
Finally, the room 3 presented "with bread", a creative reflection on bread as a social symbol, curated by Paloma Etenberg next to the Spaniards Júlia Farràs Marginedas and Irene Solé Quevedo. The exhibition brings together Argentine and Spanish artists who, through bread, invite the public to share ideas and build dialogue around complex social issues.
The CCEBA continues to promote cultural exchange between Spain and Argentina, supporting emerging artists and establishing links between both scenes. The exhibitions have the general curatorship of Laura Spivak for the exhibition programming of 2024.
