Journalist and film specialist Guillermo Álamo passed away
Through a statement issued by the Association of Cinematographic Chroniclers of Argentina, the death of Guillermo Álamo was notified, prominent journalist and specialist in national cinema.
Álamo was a partner and member of the Board of Directors of the Association and in his long career he was part of it for two decades, with Héctor Hugo Depalma, of the radio program "La Revista del Espectntación" on Splendid and Excelsior radios, then The Network, "Medical Clima" with Miguel Ángel Villarroel on Radio Municipal and collaborated in "El Mundo de Graciela Borges" on Radio Nacional.
He was one of the members of the mythical publication "Heraldo del Cine" in the 1980s.. Made notes and reports for "Radiolandia 2000", "Antenna", “TV Guide”, "TV Todo", "Tele Clic" and "Soon". Salvador Sammaritano left him the post of the Portuguese magazine "Celuloide" and was part of the production team of the television series "Private Function" led by Carlos Morelli and Rómulo Berruti.
Organized –with Pablo Moret–, Argentine cinema samples in Puerto Montt, Chile. He produced the books "El Alambrado" by Elida Gay Palmer and "La Casa a Cuestas" by Laura Hidalgo and was one of the interviewing journalists of María Duval, Silvana Roth and Duilio Marzio for the books "Our Actresses" and "Our Actors".
Published, for the collection “Solo para coleccionistas” the film “L’Appel” / ”La Llamada”, of and with Tilda Thamar, and made the selection and compilation of the CD "La Música del Cine Argentino de Hoy", produced by Envar El Kadri for Milan Sur and Página / 12. Organized and chose material, with Bernardo Bergeret, for the Uruguay station on Line B, by Metrovías, dedicated for two years to honor Argentine cinema.
He was a member of ACCA, ACE, APTRA and ACE (Association of Entertainment Critics Latin Ace Awards, New York). He curated the poster exhibitions of the Lumiton and Argentina Sono Film Studios and Venturi, as well as coordinated the section "El vals del Aniversario", in the Pinamar Screen sample, He served at INCAA and was a film editor for the magazine “Newsline Report”.
