This Saturday 7 August the Secretariat of Cultures of La Rioja finalizes the call for its meme contest, gifs and videos linked to books; proposal created to promote the creation of speeches based on humor and satire on topics that are linked to literature and reading.

Anyone can build their own meme, as shown by the outstanding stories of the account of the Rioja Book Fair where they have already begun to share the images sent to participate in the contest, the first one carried out by the Secretariat of Cultures of the province to promote these formats, within the framework of the Lyrics in Connection program 2021.

Informal, metaphorical, willing to parody, only possible to interpret in a specific context, memes compose a new corporality of visual language that is combined with other ways of communicating. and they transmit information They no longer even belong to a generation because their viralization capacity goes from the main social networks to WhatsApp.

The categories that can compete in this first contest are three: meme in picture; meme in gif and meme in video up to 15 seconds, which can be reel, Tik Tok or video file. The contest, that is done on the Instagram platform, It is intended for residents of the entire country over 15 years and each participant can send up to two memes.

A jury will choose the first and second winning meme in each of the three categories, whose prizes will be endowed with 5.000 Argentine pesos and 3.000 Argentine pesos, respectively.

Participation is made by tagging the official account of the Rioja Book Fair (@feriadellibrolr, and Instagram) and only accounts configured as “public” since the memes that the private accounts upload will not be able to be shared.
