Franco Simone presents on work-rock
Franco Simone, one of the most important voices of Italian and Spanish speaking present his new project, the rock opera Stabat Mater, junto al tenor Gianluca Paganelli y Michele Cortese.
This new project, inspired by the thirteenth century prayer composed by Jacopone da Todi, even he reached the hands of Pope Francis in Rome. Stabat Mater is a meditation on the pain proved by the Virgin Mary at the time of the crucifixion of Jesus.
In that context, Simone melodies composed in Latin and carried out a new project in classical music, which he is a passionate connoisseur, by Paganelli and Cortese, the latter, recently awarded at the Festival of Viña del Mar.
Total, Stabat Mater consists of ten songs and each has filmed a music video. The title track to the album was done in Salentinas Tajate, cantera de tobas de Acquarica del Capo, Lecce, birthplace of Simone.
The first cut was also awarded the Rome Prize video as "work showing the Italian culture in the world and about the same culture to cinema".
With regard to presentation in the country, the musician has listed a date in May in Chile, so in the next few days could add more shows in South America.
