The new edition of the Buenos Aires Rojo Sangre Festival was announced
The Buenos Aires Blood Red Festival (BARS) celebrates its 25th edition, consolidating its commitment to genre cinema. This time, The festival continues to promote local cinematography by presenting more than 25 Argentine feature films, an important achievement for the history of the event.
Among the titles offered by the edition that will be developed between 28 November and 8 December highlights “1978”, by Nicolás and Luciano Onetti; the collective film “Portraits of the Apocalypse” (Forte, Loreto, Castello); the fantastic police “The Clouds” by Eduardo Pinto; and the “one night movie” Good Night, Matthias Szulanski.
The cosmic horror also stands out in “From Inside” (Matias Rispau), the comedy “7 lives” by Alejo Rébora, and Jeit, by Carlos Ángel Luppi and Daniel Schäfer. Films like “Bloody Mary” by Taz Pereyra complete the selection, the slasher “The Hacienda” by Gaby Smiths, and “Massacre in Delta” by Facundo Nuble, with the performance of Walas from Massacre. In addition to Argentine cinema, BARS will offer a careful selection of international productions. Among the confirmed titles are “Párvulos: Children of the Apocalypse” by Mexican Isaac Ezban; “Chainsaws Were Singing”, an Estonian musical slasher directed by Sander Maran; and the British folk horror “The Severed Sun” (Dean Puckett). Other notable titles include the Chinese film “A Place Called Silence” by Sam Quah, the Uruguayan zombie comedy “The Summer Theme” by Pablo Stoll, y The Devil’s Bath, de Severin Fiala and "Veronika Franz", winner at the Sitges Festival. There will also be “Frankie Freako”, de Steven Kostanski; “Mother’s Hug” by Cristian Ponce; and the disturbing Korean production “Exhuma” by Jae-Hyun Jang. As part of the celebration, BARS will hold screenings of iconic genre films. During the event, there will be special activities such as a tribute to Nightmare in the Deep of the Night, book presentations and film workshops at the Eliseo Subiela School, all with free entry.
