The # FIACINEMujeres2021 campaign was presented
In Women's Month, the Ibero-American Federation of Academies of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences – FIACINE presents its # FIACINEMujeres2021 campaign, that seeks to generate actions around gender parity in the Ibero-American film industry.
With dedicated content 100% to the Ibero-American cinema, # FIACINEMujeres2021 is being developed, a campaign that seeks to make visible the values and work of women filmmakers from 11 countries in the region. With a total of 457 Ibero-American feature films analyzed, 242 screenings of short films directed by women and an online directory created for Ibero-American filmmakers, FIACINE's commitment to strengthening respect and promoting labor equity towards women filmmakers in the region begins this month, thanks to the union of eleven Academies of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences.
On one side, FIACINE MUJERES EN CORTO is a sample of short films directed by eleven women filmmakers from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Spain, Guatemala, Mexico, Paraguay, Portugal and Venezuela, countries belonging to FIACINE. This sample will be available in the countries mentioned above throughout the 2021 and it will be accompanied by talks where the protagonists will be the directors of said short films.
On the other side, FIACINE analyzes the participation of women filmmakers in the eleven Academies of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences in the region around the work specialties to which they belong, and the participation of feature film directors in the Ibero-American premieres of the federated countries during the 2020, all this through the report ESTUDIO FIACINE MUJERES. For this, was taken as a basis 6.814 members associated with the film academies belonging to the Federation and 457 Ibero-American feature film premieres.
Finally, The DIRECTORY OF WORKING WOMEN OF THE IBERO-AMERICAN CINEMATOGRAPHIC INDUSTRY was launched. It aims to be a consultation tool that brings together the work experience of Ibero-American filmmakers represented from their different trades.
This campaign will generate new meeting venues for female filmmakers and will take another step forward in the commitment assumed by FIACINE to increase the presence of women in the Ibero-American film industry..
