The Filba Foundation announced the ten titles that were chosen to compete in the new edition of the Fundación Medifé Filba Award, three years after its inception.

After the two winning novels of the previous editions "The Last Falcon on Earth", by Juan Ignacio Pisano, published by the Baltasara publishing house and “Los llanos” by Federico Falco published by Anagrama, the Foundation presented the list of the ten finalist titles of the edition 2022.

With this proposal, seeks to stimulate writing, let literature circulate and give a second chance to those books that came out last year and are no longer in bookstore windows; give them a second life and put them back on the bedside table of readers.

As explained by the Foundation through a statement, this list of 10 titles is a compass that guides the reading between the enormous and rich universe of the local publishing industry, selecting novels that stand out for tones, patterns and styles.

In a broader sense, the Prize recognizes the value of literature as a mobilizing force of identity, memory and critical reflection and with these criteria on its horizon draws lines that make up a map of possible readings within the country. The Award also seeks to highlight the work of Argentine publishers who have opted for these novels, despite the difficult conditions that the publishing market has gone through in recent years.

For this edition there will be a jury made up of the writers María Teresa Andruetto and Mariana Enriquez and the writer Fabián Casas, who will be in charge of selecting in the month of October the 5 short list titles between these 10 finalist novels and then choose the winning novel that will be announced in December.
