The story is set in South America, 1919. The Guarani were killed, banished or reduced to servitude. Julia, Mariano's wife, a herbalist landowner, conceives her third dead child. Desperate, le ruega a Kerana, her indigenous maid, bring it back to life. The creature returns. But it doesn't come back alone.
The cast of the production is made up of Lali González, Maria Soldi, Alberto calls, Javier Drolas, Cristian Salguero, Edgardo Castro and Sebastián Aquino.
“Those who return” proposes a cross of genres between suspense and historical melodrama. Inspired by the founding work “The return of Malon”(1892) by Angel de La Valle, that builds the demonized image of the barbarian Indian, savage and enemy of civilization, explains the director.
"The film is about a trip to the past that is reflected in the present and was born as a reflection on social terror, both in Argentina and Latin America, where the indigenous communities were annihilated or enslaved and since then they live in complete marginality ", he explained.
In that context, “The idea that the white man has a deep and deep-rooted terror that his / her subject may break out of the hegemonic system and rebel is as current as in past centuries. On that hypothesis we work, because personally I think, like in Romero's movies, from Carpenter, the best horror cinema is also a political cinema ", ended.
