Great expectations in the provinces for the return to the cinema
The approval of a protocol for the return of film functions agreed between the Ministry of Culture of the Nation and the business chambers, trade unions and sectors related to the activity, generated expectations not only in the powerful circuit of the AMBA, but also in the main halls of the provinces.
In Córdoba the activity had restarted last week, with the opening of some cinema complexes, while a few weeks ago it also worked timidly again in Entre Ríos, Jujuy and Chubut.
In Jujuy, the rooms reopened in November with an audience capacity of 30 percent, in accordance with the biosecurity protocol approved by the Emergency Operating Committee (COE) provincial.
In this way, after eight months of inactivity, Jujuy was the first province in the country to enable its movie theaters; the Alfa theater cinema was the first in the country to open its doors on 26 November.
A month before, the Miter Theater in Jujuy had been the first in the region to reopen the 30 October after improving sanitary conditions due to coronavirus.
Although not all the rooms have returned to work since then, Local officials told Télam that there is good compliance with the spectator limit, distance and temperature measurement.
"We believe that there will be no modifications in the scheme that we have been having, but if there is any adjustment to be made, it will be done. The idea is to complement it with the national protocol ", The Jujuy Secretary of Culture told this agency today, Luis Medina Zar.
In the case of Mendoza, private cinemas are still closed and there is no opening notification yet, reported sources from the provincial Culture area; since it only opened in mid-December and with few functions the Cine Universidad, in the Cultural Hall, which later closed for the summer break at Christmas.
While, the Minister of Culture of Santa Fe, Jorge Llonch, confirmed to this agency that the district "awaits the national DNU to prepare the provincial decree" that will enable the return of cinema functions.
El funcionario manifestó que leyó el protocolo aprobado en las últimas horas y señaló que lo encuentra “muy similar” al que rige para la actividad teatral, with spectators who must wear a chinstrap and a distance between seats of one and a half meters.
In La Pampa, meanwhile, one of the presidents of the Federation of Exhibitors of the Argentine Republic and owner of the only cinema in Santa Rosa, Walter Geringer, afirmó que aguardaban por estas horas con “mucha expectativa la reapertura de los cines, which constitute one of the safest recreational spaces in times of pandemic and whose protocol includes an entertainment and cultural program, que hasta evita la posibilidad de eventos clandestinos”.
