Henry Cavill, as a possible new immortal in the remake of “Highlander”

Actor Henry Cavill is in the Lionsgate plans to be the new immortal hero of the reversal of “Highlander”, as reported by US media.

While the role is not yet confirmed, nor his role within the cast, the Viriety site published that the Superman interpreter will be put under the command of Chad Stahelski (“John Wick”) for this new version of the saga that included movies, series y comics.

The original film starred Christopher Lambert as Connor MacLeod., a Scottish warrior born in the 16th century who learns that he is an immortal after dying in battle, just to come back to life, and Sean Connery as Connor's mentor, an Egyptian named Juan Sánchez.

Juan teaches Connor that he is one of the few humans born with what is called Quickening., that allows them to live forever, unless they are beheaded.

Centuries later, in present-day New York, Connor se enfrenta a Kurgan (Clancy Brown), another immortal who is hell-bent on beheading all immortals, thus becoming the most powerful being on Earth.

The second installment of the film was filmed in Argentina in 1990, in scenarios ranging from Subway Line E to Valle de la Luna in San Juan

As for Cavill, is in the filming of the season 2 of “The Witcher” para Netflix, and was recently announced to play Sherlock Holmes again alongside Millie Bobby Brown's titular performance in “Enola Holmes 2”. (TELAM)
