The tributes to Carlos Gardel begin 83 years of his death
Under the motto #GardelEterno, the Ministry of Culture of the City of Buenos Aires will carry out a series of tributes to the great singer Carlos Gardel, a 83 years of his death and on the fifteenth anniversary of the Casa Carlos Gardel Museum.
The tribute will begin at 17 of this friday 22 June with the meeting "Gardel en la vitrola", a talk that includes the reproduction of pasta discs on a portable vitrola by the collector Pablo Taboada.
The review of the Gardelian material will include an analysis of its lyrics, historical scores and advertisements that will serve to reconstruct the time when the material was published.
Tomorrow, from 19, the activity "Gardel Mundial" will be held, with the projection of the film "Tango de una noche de Verano", the co-production made in Germany, Argentina and Finland, directed by Viviane Blumenschein.
It is a road movie starring three Argentine musicians who travel to Europe in order to corroborate the theory of the filmmaker Aki Kaurismäki, who argued that the true cradle of tango is in Finland.
On Sunday 24 of June, from 16, it will be the turn of "Gardel for boys", a recital by the didactic orchestra Somos Tango. The show is accompanied by a dance that tells the history of the Argentine genre par excellence.
Finally, the same sunday, from 18 the tribute recital "Gardelian Format" will be held, by Morocho del Abasto who will interpret the repertoire of the Zorzal Criollo in his typical formation of voice and guitars. The singers Jacqueline Sigaut and Hernán Genovese will revisit the songs once sung by Gardel accompanied by the Dipi Kvitko trio (Diego “Dipi” Kvitko, Matias Tozzola, Felipe Traine).
