Boost: a new program is launched to support live shows

Until the 11 May registration of this extraordinary financial support is open so that rooms or spaces for shows with the public can face the difficulties derived from the restriction of circulation due to COVID.

The Ministry of Culture of the Nation, through the Ministry of Cultural Development, opened the call for ImpulsAr, extraordinary financial support for theaters, premises and theaters of the AMBA and of all jurisdictions that adhere to the Decree 241/2021 and that they had to suspend scheduled functions.

The planned investment is $50 million and will have an impact on the income of actors, actresses and screenwriters, among other workers in the performing arts, since the same destination that the box office would have had is expected.

Until the 11 of May, theater holders can apply, halls or venues for shows with audiences legally authorized to carry out stage activities, who have had to suspend scheduled live music performances, theater, circus or dance, Between the days 16 Y 30 April inclusive, in compliance with the measures provided.

The halls or performance venues with the public must be within the territory of AMBA or in those jurisdictions that have adhered to the measures implemented by Decree No. 235/2021 -with the modifications introduced by Decree No. 241/2021- due to its situation of high epidemiological and sanitary risk.

The call establishes three categories of beneficiaries, according to the total capacity of the rooms, assigning each of them an amount per function suspended:

CATEGORY A:

Capacity of 200 a 500

Benefit of $50.000 by function

Maximum up to $300.000

CATEGORY B

Capacity of 501 a 1500

Benefit of $80.000 by function

Maximum up to $480.000

CATEGORY C

Capacity of 1500 onwards

Benefit of $100.000 by function

Maximum up to $600.000

The selection of beneficiaries will be made by a jury that will be made up of two officials from the Ministry of Culture, both with rank not lower than National Director and related competences, three specialists, experts with proven experience and extensive experience in the field of cultural industries.
