This Thursday 18 May can be seen at the José Hernández Museum of Popular Art (MAPJH) the traditional Small and Medium Format Textile Art Salon, with the participation of local and foreign artists.

The appointment will be from the 18.30, when the meeting number began 19, coinciding with International Museum Day.

In this way, the Avenida del Libertador site 2373 will accompany once more (together with the Association of Friends of the Museum) the textile movement.

It is worth noting that the Textile Art Salon is an annual event in which national and foreign artists participate., with works selected and awarded by the jury that offer the visitor a wide and current sample of this artistic field.

In this exhibition you can see pieces that show the wealth of techniques that combine the traditional with the experimental., using organic materials, inorganic or synthetic, and that are expression of textures, volume and color. The expression of textile art refers to the works that are made up of warp and weft, so, unlike handicrafts, does not require a utility function.

Like all years, This Hall was declared of Cultural Interest by the Legislature of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. The jury was made up of the renowned visual artists Marian Cvik, Silvio Fischbein and Liliana Rothschild.

In small format, the first place was obtained by María Paula Wendel with the work "Pillow for anthropologists"; while second was Luz Marisol Molina with "Bio Grafías de Pandemic". The podium was completed by Gustavo Damián Sampayo with "Micro Universe 1".

Meanwhile, in medium format, Gustavo Alfredo Larsen was highlighted with the work "El Khipuneta" in first place. The second award went to Romina Bassi with "Ojos del Salar". Finally, María Eugenia Bargero took third place with the work "Walk through the constellations".

further, the exhibition will be accompanied by a public program with a varied program of activities, face-to-face and/or virtual demonstrations and talks.
