He recently inaugurated the exhibition “Victor Grippo. An oven for two tables” at the Sarmiento Birthplace Museum and Library, exhibition that will remain open until 21 of November.

This new proposal is within the framework of BIENALSUR 2021 and has the curatorship of Carlos Godoy in the traditional enclosure located in the province of San Juan, with the support of the Secretariat of Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture of the Nation and the National Directorate of Museums.

The present exhibition of the renowned artist Víctor Grippo (1936-2002) presents three works that propose to reflect on food in times of crisis, the role of humanity vis-à-vis nature, that of the citizens versus the community and that of the producers of meaning versus an audience overwhelmed by urgency.

"Naturalize man, humanize nature " (1977) presents food as matter in transformation, science as a mediator of practices that are harmful to the ecosystem and food and work as vindicating gestures in chaos.

"The artist's food" (1991) refers to the complex relationship between art and money, art and productivity, art and time. What can art contribute in this context of civilizational deterioration?? Can art generate food? By last, the tribute of the performance.

"Construction of a popular oven to make bread" (1972) -made in conjunction with the sculptor Jorge Gamarra- evokes the community ritual of eating. In this way, An oven for two tables tries to reflect on food in times of crisis and the multiple edges that emerge from this reflection on our role as human beings in front of nature.

This exhibition can be visited from Tuesday to Friday, between the 10 and the 13 and the 15.30 and the 18, and on Saturdays and Sundays, of 11 a 15.
