Jazmín Stuart won the top prize at the Bilbao Seriesland festival
The actress, Argentine scriptwriter and director Jazmín Stuart was awarded the top prize at the sixth edition of the Bilbao Seriesland Webseries Festival, the Grand Jury Prize as "showrunner" of "Letters to my ex".
Produced by the channel of the National University of Tres de Febrero, UN3.TV, The proposal created by Stuart is an eight episode web series of 12 minutes in which eight characters send a letter in image and sound to their ex-partners.
"The closeness and intimacy transmitted by Jazmín Stuart has made the jury select her as the best showrunner of this year", tweeted the organization of the Basque festival, in reference to the term spread by the Hollywood industry that brings together the roles of screenwriter in one person, producer and director, and that can be synthesized as who is the person with the greatest creative responsibility in a series.
"She becomes the first woman to win this award", added the Seriesland statement, that also gives a statuette a check for 1.000 euros.
"Letters to my ex" took, also, the award for the best script of the show.
The festival, one of the most relevant in the specialty, today delivered thirty awards, among which the Canadian “Amour d'occasion” also stood out as the best series.
The Argentine presence was especially important this year, with 13 titles in the different sections in competition.
Several of them also took their recognitions, such as "Alt + Esc", by ZepFilms and available on the Flixxo platform, which won the award for best edition of the official selection.
