Between Wednesday 23 and the 27 September will be held at the Museum of Latin American Art in Buenos Aires (PAINTING) the online conference on the poet Juana Bignozzi (1937-2015).

Celebrating the 80 anniversary of his birth, This tribute will be made virtually from the website of the traditional Buenos Aires museum, where the fundamental work of this national poet will be highlighted.

Bignozzi has been a key figure of the generation of '60, in addition to being a privileged witness of our recent history. She was born into a working class and communist family and was the only female member of the poetry group "El pan duro" - close to the Communist Party..

In 1974 he settled in Barcelona and could not return to Buenos Aires until a long time later. After three decades in Spain and numerous books published, he found a different country. The return to Argentina –in 2004– found her again with the young people who read and valued her, of whom she became intimate and interlocutor.

Juana Bignozzi is a poet who crosses generations - from 60 to 90– and joins them, that crosses continents - from Argentina to Europe and back - and also establishes links.

Regarding these encounters, MALBA will offer documents and images that were recovered from the Bignozzi Archive. further, the documentary "Poets visit Juana Bignozzi" will be released, directed by Mercedes Halfon and Laura Citarella.

It is worth noting to put this writer back on stage from the voices of poets and critics who knew and studied her and in the light of her latest book, the posthumous collection of poems "Novísimos", published in 2019 by Adriana Hidalgo editor and that closes the work of a lifetime.
