Who had recently been elected as president of arteBA, Juan Carlos Lynch, He resigned after a controversy caused by a series of sexist posts on his social networks.

There were only three days of Lynch in charge of the institution and, together with him, Vice President Matilde Grobocopatel also resigned, according to what is indicated by arteBA through its official accounts.

Regarding the resignation of Lynch, since the organization of the traditional art fair it was expressed that it was adopted “to facilitate the board of directors making the decisions it deems most appropriate”.

It should be noted that at the time of assuming the presidency, “Nosotras Proponemos” -a collective of feminist artists- showed his discomfort at the presence of Juan Carlos Lynch, as a result of several posts classified as sexist.

After showing screenshots, Lynch acknowledged his mistake and apologized, stating to the Télam agency that “a wrong reading has been made of me, and with reason. Unfortunately I am to blame. But they have made a picture of me that is not real; it does not reflect the way I see the world ”and added: "As I said in the statement, I am the father of four female daughters and I believe in the need to end years of postponement and discrimination against women".

Despite the apology, the employer had stated that he did not resign from his new position, however that thought changed in the last hours. In this way, the foundation should focus on the election of its new owner.
