Keith Jarret thinks he won't be able to play live again
Renowned American musician Keith Jarrett, instrumentalist of reference in the history of jazz, expressed that due to two strokes (both occurred in 2018) "I don't feel like a pianist at the moment".
Jarret, of 75 years, gave these statements in the framework of an interview with The New York Times, where he unfortunately maintained that it is highly unlikely that he will play in public again, an experience that Argentine music lovers could enjoy three times (in 1994, in december 2000 and the last one in April 2011 at the Teatro Colon).
"My left side is still partially paralyzed. I can walk with a cane, but it took me a long time, a year or more. And I can't move around this house at all, for real”, revealed the pianist.
And in the same sense, Jarret expressed: “I don't know what my future will be. I don't feel like a pianist at the moment. That's all i can say about it”.
The Jazeera generation to which Jarret belongs suffered last September the loss of American double bass player Gary Peacock, companion of the pianist in a famous trio of the genre that was completed by drummer Jack DeJohnette.
