Kenneth Branagh to direct the Bee Gees biopic
British director Kenneth Branagh has been confirmed as the director of the next biopic that will tell the story of the pop group Bee Gees.
Thus, Branagh will portray the trajectory of the trio of made up of the Gibb brothers from their beginnings in the industry to the stardom they reached in 1977 with the soundtrack of “Saturday night fever”.
As reported by the specialized site Variety, the director of “Frankenstein de Mary Shelley” (1994) and the adaptation of “Hamlet” (1996) signed a contract with Paramount Pictures studios, and he is already working with comedian Ben Elton on the writing of the script.
The film will be produced by Graham King, who held that role in “Bohemian Rhapsody: The Freddie Mercury Story” (2018), and will feature Barry Gibb - the only member to survive after Maurice's passing in 2003 and Robin in 2012- as executive producer.
