Kiefer Sutherland será Roosevelt en “The First Lady”
British actor Kiefer Sutherland, Recognized for his role as Jack Bauer in the hit action strip “24”, will put himself in the shoes of US President Franklin D. Roosevelt in the first season of "The First Lady".
It is an anthology series that will portray that historical character and two other leaders of that country through the gaze of their wives.
While, as reported by the specialized site Variety, British-American Gillian Anderson, multi-award winner at the Emmy Awards, the Golden Globes and the Screen Actors Guild awards for their roles in “The secret X files” Y “The Crown”, It will be Eleanor Roosevelt in this first installment that does not yet have a confirmed release date but is expected to arrive next spring.
Described as a revealing proposal about the behind-the-scenes of the White House, “The First Lady” will focus both on the personal and political lives of the protagonists regarding the trajectories that led them to settle in the White House.
In that sense, subsequent seasons will follow the stories of President Gerald Ford, his wife Betty and daughter Susan, to be played respectively by Aaron Eckhart, Michelle Pfeiffer y Dakota Fanning; and of the couple formed by Barack Obama and Michelle Obama, played by OT Fagbenle and Oscar winner Viola Davis.
The Serie, produced by Showtime and Lionsgate Television, will feature a script by Aaron Cooley (“Best. Worst. Weekend. Ever.”), who will also serve as executive producer alongside Julius Tennon (“American Koko”) y Andrew Wang (“The Last Defense”). (TELAM)
