Kiss an Argentina: Chronicle of the last kiss to Buenos Aires
Many times they threatened to do it, but this time seems to be the final one: Kiss leaves the stage and in that context he said goodbye to his followers in Buenos Aires.
The Masters of Rock Festival was the context and the Parque de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires the chosen place. pitchforks, Avantasia, helloween, Deep Purple and Scorpions were part of the appointment, but the great bulk of the public was there for a last hug to the group led by Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, seconded by Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer.
with english punctuality, to 22 Friday hours the chords of "Rock and roll" sounded, the Led Zeppelin anthem that Kiss regularly uses to warn that the stage was preparing to receive the "Hottest Band in the World".
That's how it went, that between lights, smoke and screens, the curtain fell once more to listen to "Detroit Rock City" and see the four musicians again (actually three) descending platforms before the excited public view.
It is really difficult to write a chronicle when the writer is a fan of a group, affirmation that one allows oneself to make knowing that it is the farewell of a group of artists who, for the vast majority of his followers, is much more than a group of artists.
Why is this point clear?? Because those who met in the City Park, plus a huge amount that was left out by the hurt national economy, knows things in advance that perhaps in other bands would be unforgivable: the repetition of songs (they only modified one with respect to the show that they offered exactly one year ago at the Campo Argentino de Polo) or the "help" of vocal tracks that only serve to give some fight to the cruel passage of time.
Mentioned all this, there is something that Kiss does not negotiate and that is also seen during the two hours that the concert lasts: attitude is everything. Dedication is absolute and respect for the public is paramount. Doubts? They ask the lord of the painted star who, with little more than 70 years, with hip or vocal cord surgery, keep flying through a rail to the middle of the property, with 20 kilos of clothing on top.
Kiss is synonymous with spectacle and that's how it was since its creation and that's what its epitaph will say. Es show, It's fun, It's music...it's rock and roll.
Returning to the fan of many years that appears behind the keyboard and as a closing, each song referred to a moment. every sentence, even with the well-known "I don't speak Spanish very well...". All this set of things lived on Friday night has been a two-hour thank you that will last forever.
