“No title”, work from the series Add two Add one of 2018

With respect to exposure, which will remain open from Monday to Friday from 10 a 17 hours, gathers some of the pictorial works, most emblematic sculptural and performative of the Korean artist.

Curated by Cecilia Medina and general coordination by Teresa Ran Kim -director of the Kim Yun Shin Museum-, the sample narrates, through a selection of 34 works, moments in which social and political events of global significance occurred, that were transformative for the life and work of the Korean artist.

Regarding the artistic style that she had since childhood, Yun Shin pointed out that “it felt like the sky full of stars was very close. It seemed to me that you could reach a star just by extending your hand ".

“As a child I liked to cut pieces of wood to glue. These memories of my childhood came back to me very clearly, filling me with nostalgia. Because, I collected pieces of wood and decided to work remembering the enthusiasm of that time. To remember that girl's dream of traveling to the stars ", added the artist.

Kim Yun Shin addresses in “Now, at this moment ”the concept chal-la: the precise moment something happens. In that sense, the installation that is presented in the room where, permanently, his works are exhibited, arises from the image that the artist saw in a sculpture at the end: the image of Jesus and the two thieves crucified at his side in three vertical shapes. In this way, once again, the way a word defines destiny in an instant is evident in his work.

His works are part of the collections of the Museums of Modern Art of Buenos Aires and Mexico D.F., del Seoul Museum of Art (Schema), el Han Won Museum of Art y el National Museum Contemporary Art of Korea, from South Korea, and the International Sculpture Park in Beijing, China, among other important institutions.

Then, we present the curatorial video of the exhibition, that can be found in our Official Youtube Channel.
