The City of Buenos Aires recognized 75 Notable Bars

In order to recognize his great contribution to Buenos Aires life and his career, the Culture area of ​​the City of Buenos Aires distinguished the 75 bares, cafés, Notable confectioneries and billiards.

Emphasizing what happened during the hard passage of the pandemic, the Notable Bars were honored through an act held in the Golden Room of the La Prensa building and was attended by the Minister of Culture of the City, Enrique Avogadro, Undersecretary for Gastronomic Policies, Hector Gatto, the Buenos Aires legislator and president of the Culture Commission of the Legislature, Roy Cortina, the Buenos Aires legislator and vice president of the Legislature's Culture Commission, Cecilia Ferrero, the general secretary of the Historical Cultural Heritage Commission of the city of Buenos Aires, Emiliano Michelena and representatives of the Chamber of Notable Bars and heads of the Notable Bars.

“The Notable Bars are inescapable references of the history and the cultural and social activity of each of the neighborhoods”, highlighted Avogadro, who added a congratulations for the "effort and commitment in supporting each one of them that are part of our history. The pandemic starkly showed us how culture is an engine of economic development, how thousands of resources and jobs are affected”.

For his part, Pablo Duran, representative of the Chamber of Notable Bars, mentioned that “bars are the smokeless chimneys of the city, they are life itself. Many situations are experienced every day at their tables: they are the day that begins when the blinds are raised and they are neither more nor less than our identity, indisputable heritage of our city. This moment that is like starting over after the pandemic; and this recognition is a pampering to the soul, a beautiful caress”.
