The General Directorate for Book Promotion, Libraries and Culture, Together with the Network of Public Libraries of the City, they announced the reactivation of the book loan and return service in seven of their establishments.

The first to resume the service has been the Parque de la Estación Library, on its second anniversary, on Tuesday 15 of June. Next week, from Tuesday 22, will open at this stage, without permanence of the public, with the necessary sanitary measures, the following 6 libraries: Leopoldo Lugones Library, Miguel Cane Library, Reading House Library, Guido and Spano Library, Benito Lynch Library and Antonio Devoto Library. Up to three titles can be requested at a time, having a period of 30 loan days until repayment.

In all cases, the loans will be made by appointment., by means of a shift arranged by telephone to avoid crowds in the spaces. Likewise, the entire procedure has health prevention measures, corresponding to the strict security protocol implemented to prevent the spread of Covid-19: hand and shoe sanitation, temperature measurement, distance from 1.5 m. between people and use of the mask during the stay in the space. In addition to the measures that regulate contact between people, the establishments that resume the service host spatial qualities that manage to guarantee sanitary parameters, and were conditioned to ensure health care, both the interested public and the library staff.

To borrow a book from the Public Library Network, interested persons must:

1) Join the Network by filling out the form at www.buenosaires.gob.ar/bibliotecas. A provisional virtual credential and an association number will be generated that must be presented at the establishment for the withdrawal of the book, together with your physical ID.

2) Choose the book. On the same page you will find lists of recommended by Library and the general catalog of the Network. There is more of 300 thousand titles available.

3) Take turn. By calling your nearest library, you can reserve the title and coordinate a shift to collect it and another to return it.. They can choose a shift to come from Monday to Friday, of 10 a 16 h.
