The classic “Flashdance” will have its version in series form
The upcoming Paramount + streaming platform, with which the ViacomCBS conglomerate will extend its reach to the whole world next year with the aim of competing with the giants of the sector, is developing a series based on the iconic movie "Flashdance", of 1983.
As reported by the specialized site The Hollywood Reporter, the original production company of the film, Lynda fruit, will be involved in the project as an executive producer.
With Tracy McMillan as screenwriter, The series will focus on a young African American girl who dances in a strip club but dreams of making a career in ballet., who will go on an emotional journey through romance, the money, art and friendship for, as a last resort, find herself.
Directed by Adrian Lyne and starring Jennifer Beals, "Flashdance" was one of the most successful films of the 80 and is considered a classic of the time.

The series joins several other projects that Paramount + is preparing for 2021, among which are the franchise "The Twilight Zone" ("The unknown dimension"), "Star Trek" and a series about the behind the scenes of the filming of "The Godfather".
