The online edition of FIDBA and #LINK closed their respective stages
After more than 35 days online -with contemporary non-fiction cinema offered through Festhome, OctoberTV, Lumiton and Cont.ar, of seminars, industry activities and projections with 68.114 spectators and 181.320 reproductions, the Buenos Aires International Documentary Film Festival and #LINK, the FIDBA Industry Area, It ended.
Mario Durrieu, Artistic Director of FIDBA, stated that “they were days marked by reflection, the art, culture and - fundamentally- for the joy and pleasure of meeting, to meet us, to go through a fascinating experience together every day such as a Film Festival, even through a screen. Felt close, despite not being able to be physically together. We were left with concepts such as opening the doors of the rooms, although there are not so that everyone can enter. For those of us who do FIDBA, it means seeing the work of a whole year reflected. And for the directors, directors, participants and audience, a breath of emotion and intensity ".
During this edition, the latest film by Frederick Wiseman was presented at the Latin American level, “City Hall”, one of the greatest exponents of documentary worldwide.
More than 240 movies - from 46 countries- and the Industry Area, #LINK, had more than 300 accredited and more than 50 Projects. further, throughout this intense journey, was presented through the FIDBA:CAMPUS, the Training Area, THINKING, MOVIES, MONTAR of which Paz Encina was part, Meritxell Collell, Ruben Mendoza, Gustavo Vinegar, Manuel Abramovich, Martin Solá, Fernando Epstein, Alejo Moguillansky, Jordana Berg, Alejandra Almiron, Domi Parra and Magdalena Schinca.
This year, the FIDBA FORUM was dedicated entirely to the 18 participants of the second edition of the INCAA Documentary Incubator.
In this sense, more of 100 films participated in the official competitive sections and other 140 films in the different thematic focuses. Adding up that magical number of 240 films on screens.
In that large number of countries, regions and views represented on the screens is expressed the will and effort to bring the public a different cinema that speaks of reality from diversity, beauty and politics.
A retrospective of one of the most iconic producers in FRANCE has been made, THE FILMS FROM HERE, being able to see his latest productions with the invaluable support of the French Embassy for Argentina.
