The International Book Fair in Buenos Aires ended and in an unusual way, since after 45 years uninterrupted, the traditional meeting offered an online edition for reasons of public knowledge.

In that context, The Book Foundation, fair organizer, through the testimonies of its President and its Institutional and Cultural Director, took stock of the event and released the most significant numbers of the largest cultural event in the region.

"The Fair could not, no way, absent without saying a word, because you have a commitment to exhibitors, with those who carry out activities and with the public ”, argued María Teresa Carbano, President of the Fundación El Libro.

On the other hand, the board stated that "we are a Foundation that promotes the book, as a reading tool and as an object of an industry, who is in such a critical situation, so economically beaten and yet does not abandon its main objective because it must continue working for these objectives in any of the circumstances and by any possible means. The broadcast of the program on Public TV shows such a thing ”.

"Have a virtual cultural program, accompanying it on the same website with the proposals of the exhibitors themselves and even with a service such as the map of bookstores was an experience never thought of and with surprising results. There were proposals that had ten times more views than they could have in a room "said Oche Califa, Institutional and Cultural Director-. further, the links will stay for a while, so whoever didn't enjoy them now, he will do it whenever he wants”.
