The International Book Fair ended with record attendance

After two years of absence due to the pandemic and with a last weekend full of assistance, The edition 46 of the International Book Fair ended with a historical mark of public.

As detailed from the El Libro Foundation - entity in charge of organizing the traditional meeting that takes place on the La Rural property- after 19 days, the Book Fair hosted a total of 1.324.500 people, that toured the more than 41 thousand square meters for stands.

Total, were 358 stands belonging to 610 exhibitors (both local and international). further, 1.727 publishing labels presented their proposals in one of the 9 La Rural pavilions.

Regarding the international field, 16 were the countries (and two communities) that were part of the edition 46 of the fair. While, of the national territory, 19 provinces participated with their own stand.

The Fair also reflected the work of 12 thousand book professionals (editors, bookshelves, dealers, illustrators, translators, among others) from Argentina, Germany, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, United Arab Emirates, Spain, U.S, Estonia, France and Guatemala. Also from Honduras, Italy, Latvia, Mexico, Netherlands, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, UK, Dominican Republic, Taiwan, Turkey, Uruguay and Venezuela, among others.

Throughout the 19 days occurred 997 Cultural events, 421 activities in stands and 104 events organized by Havana (Guest of Honor City).

Likewise, the impact within the educational field was more than important, since there was the participation of 1.531 educators in the Teaching Zone and 24.641 students together with 2.917 teaching assistants of 608 establishments.

It should be noted that the date for the next edition of the Fair is already stipulated (the 47), which will take place in La Rural between 25 April and 15 of May of next year and that will have the city of Santiago de Chile as guest of honor.
