Since Friday 20 In November the exhibition “Mate Corazón” can be enjoyed at the Mar Dulce Gallery, by the artist Consuelo Vidal.

This exhibition, which will be inaugurated virtually but which can also be visited in person through shifts, focuses on the mate, faithful companion of the Argentines.

mate, companion of loneliness, listener of long talks, laughs and cries. Tireless rounds. Washed yerba and chilled waters. Sacred object, be chosen, inherited or gifted. Carrier of intimate moments that are passed from generation to generation.

Within that context, in september this year, the artist looked for a creative project that would connect her with the rest. There Vidal started a call and invited people to participate in his ‘round of mate’. Each one sent him photos of his most precious mate, the daily companion, the prettiest or the one with affective value.

The 33 works in the exhibition were handcrafted appealing to the old trades: carved in wood, embossed in sheet metal and leather and gilding on the leaf. Together they form a collective work, a 'zoom' of math on the wall, as portraits of their owners.

Born in Tigre in 1983, The artist was trained and studied Fine Arts at the Santa Ana y San Joaquín Institute in Buenos Aires. Attended artist Diana Aisenberg's workshop and clinic. Much of his plastic language comes from his upbringing and his payments, their experiences and their permanent observation of nature, decorative art, lo kitsch, popular saints, the spontaneous altars, the protective virgins, homey, the simple, the beautiful and popular religion as a symbol of union and faith.

His work is characterized by vibrant colors and the incorporation of the old crafts, as a way of valuing crafts. Art and crafts come together in his work.

Because of the current situation, You can visit Mate Corazón by Consuelo Vidal in Galería Mar Dulce, Uriarte 1490, Palermo, Buenos Aires only by appointment every day in the afternoon from Monday 23 of November. Shifts can be requested at 11 5319 3597.
