The museum night 2024: The most anticipated Buenos Aires cultural event
This Saturday, The City of Buenos Aires celebrates the twentieth edition of The Night of the Museums, organized by the Ministry of Culture of the City. from 19 Saturday until 2 Sunday h, more of 250 spaces will open their doors so residents and visitors can enjoy a wide variety of artistic and cultural experiences for free.
This event seeks to reaffirm the City's commitment to the promotion and access to culture, offering an unparalleled opportunity to share with family and friends.
Within that context, the Minister of Culture of the City, Gabriela Ricardes, highlighted the importance of tonight, that allows residents and tourists to immerse themselves in the identity of Buenos Aires. According to Ricardos, the initiative turns everyday life into a special moment, where both public and private spaces invite you to enjoy the best of its heritage. The proposal is added to other nocturnal cultural activities such as the Night of the Theaters and the Night of the Notable Bars, all with the aim of promoting the connection of Buenos Aires residents with their culture.
More than 250 museums and cultural spaces, the City offers a diverse programming that includes exhibitions, workshops, Guided visits, shows live, interactive spaces and multiple artistic interventions. Among the scheduled activities, highlights the exhibition “Infinite Learning. Art is education” at the Modern Museum, that explores the connections between art and education through productions by Argentine artists. This exhibition will also include tactile resources and an interpretation service in Argentine sign language.. further, The Humanities and Social Sciences Book Fair will take place in the same museum, with presentations of books from important publishers.
To facilitate transportation around the city, Public transportation service will be free on subway lines, buses and Ecobici on extended hours, showing the “free pass” available at BOTI. The bus lines, as well as the premetro and shared bicycles, They will be enabled until dawn to guarantee that the public can move around without inconvenience..
Among the most notable proposals are those of the José Hernández Popular Art Museum, with exhibits on the culture of the Gran Chaco and the work of Tomás Ditaranto; the Enrique Larreta Museum of Spanish Art, which presents samples of South American and contemporary art; and the Saavedra Historical Museum, with an exhibition dedicated to Mariquita Sánchez de Thompson, symbol of Buenos Aires society of the 19th century.
Meanwhile, The Usina del Arte invites you to participate in interactive activities such as “Participatory Sculpture” and “Crema party Usina”, where adults and children can create collaborative art in an immersive environment with music and lights. In the Plaza de la Usina there will be live music by 107 Fauns and a video mapping show on the façade.
The little ones will also have their space in the Museum of Imagination and Play (MIJU), which will open at a special time with creative workshops and musical shows designed especially for children. Activities in the garden will be free access, while the tour of the rooms will require prior reservation.
