The second FELBA will return at Easter and will be free

The Fair of Editorials and Bookstores of Buenos Aires (FELBA) confirmed his return for a second edition, which will be totally free and will take place during the long weekend of Easter.

Organized by the Fundación El Libro and the Ministry of Culture of the City, FELBA can be enjoyed in the Parque de la Estación, under strict security protocols, between the first and the 4 of April.

In this opportunity, the fair will feature more than 50 exhibitors and an outstanding cultural program. At the same time, for having been March the month of poetry, there will be a collective space dedicated to that genre.

As detailed by the Buenos Aires Minister of Culture, Enrique Avogadro, the meeting that will take place on the premises of Presidente Perón 3326 from the Balvanera neighborhood, has the objective of being able to "reunite and connect with culture". But, above all, “Continue to support the reactivation of the independent publishing sector and its sales channels, the bookstores ", assured.

Meanwhile, Ariel Granica -president of the El Libro Foundation- expressed that this "is an opportunity for the book industry to regain prominence and visibility" and emphasized that "fairs have that quality of putting into action not only books but also, as well, to all those who produce or express themselves in culture ".

Granica described that "the situation in the sector is critical and the outlook for the pandemic, uncertain. Because, With the Ministry of Culture of the City we want to give support to the bookstores and with the corresponding care, get moving ".

With 50 exhibitors – 10 more than 2020-, 100 stands -18 more than 2020- at the rate of two per exhibitor, plus a collective poetry space shared by eight publishers of the aforementioned genre, and a diverse proposal of eight activities for visitors, FELBA will start on 1 April under the Protocol of activities with the public and the Protocol of book fairs of the City.
