The Fox signal, owned by Walt Disney, decided to change its name and from today it will be renamed "Star Channel", like the rest of its platforms that will now be "Star Premium" and "Star Life".

Thus, Star seeks to fight in the entertainment market with thousands of hours of movies and television from Disney's creative studios, including Disney Television Studios, FX, 20th Century Studios, 20th Television, Touchstone y, as well, original programming produced and distributed in Latin America, as reported by the company in a statement.

“STAR arrives in Latin America to reinforce the general entertainment programming offer that has always captivated audiences, consolidating its presence in the region and inaugurating a new era in our commitment to offer the best regional and international content”, Diego Lerner noted, President, The Walt Disney Company Latin America.

STAR Channel is the general entertainment channel on pay TV for viewers of 18 a 49 years, subtitled or dubbed into Spanish that reaches more than 51 million households in 18 Latin American countries via cable and satellite. STAR life offers entertainment for women from 25 a 49 years. Dubbed 100% to Spanish the signal reaches 34.3 million households in 18 Latin American countries via cable and satellite and includes series such as “Law and order”, “New Amsterdam”, “The Resident” and space “Cine Life” Saturdays and Sundays with a selection of romantic films, comedies, dramas, thrillers, crimes and suspense, continue in their programming.
