Free virtual laboratory for the distribution of short films
The Short Film Lab opens the call for its first edition to be held in April 2021 and that will remain open until 30 from January.
It is a training program open to the public and a series of personalized tutorials for the projects selected in the call., dedicated to the distribution of short films. It will be virtual and free, aimed at independent Spanish-speaking producers and producers with international projection.
Those selected will receive a distribution tutoring by the Industry Coordinator of the Short Films area of the Cannes Festival (Cannes Short Film), Florian Fernández.
The Short Film Lab opened its call for new speeches, diverse and authorial, and receive short films in post-production (or finished, not released) spoken in Spanish and of a maximum duration of 15 minutes.
In alliance with the Network of Patagonian Audiovisual Festivals and the Image and Sound Design career of the University of Buenos Aires, The selection committee will also receive a shortlist of projects from each of these entities.
The general curatorship will value new audiovisual content as society and the current context demand, with artistic and creative freedom, and high technical quality.
The Short Film Lab aims to promote the visibility of the large number of short films that are produced in Spanish-speaking countries so that they bring their identity and those of their communities to the whole world.
The Short Film Lab is directed by Maca Herrera Bravo and Facundo Lema, and has the support of the Image and Sound Design career (FADU, UBA), the European Film Meeting in Argentina, faciun, French Institute. French Embassy in Argentina, Mexican Institute of Cinematography – IMCINE, the Network of Patagonian Audiovisual Festivals, y Talking Shorts, official collaborators in its first edition.
