Alejandro Chaskielberg's photos will be exhibited at Cultural Rojas

Under the name “Barks at night” and with the organization of the Gachi Prieto Gallery, This Thursday the exhibition opens with the photos of Alejandro Chaskielberg at the Rojas Cultural Center.

This exhibition will be inaugurated from 19 hours and then you can visit from Monday to Saturday from 10 a 20 hours until 20 December at the venue located on Corrientes Avenue 2038.

The exhibition brings together a selection of the nocturnal work carried out by Chaskielberg between 2006 Y 2021. As detailed in the exhibition catalog, they are images created in the dark during several minutes of exposure and illuminated with the light of the moon, lanterns or fire, or the combination of several sources.

Within this selection, photos from six different projects will be exhibited, stories told from the author's own experience with the people and places where he works for years.

In this context, the public will be able to appreciate life on the islands of the Paraná Delta photographed during full moon nights., the consequences of a powerful tsunami in a Japanese fishing village, a magical labyrinth hidden in the mountains, landscapes invaded by phone screens or the experience of spending the pandemic with her daughter in a mobile home in the woods, among other.

Born in 1977 in Buenos Aires, Chaskielberg performs as a photographer, curator and teacher. Creó proyectos en diferentes regiones del mundo como la Patagonia Argentina, Surinam, Kenya, Japan and Italy and published three photographic books: "The Crescent", “Otsuchi Memories of the Future” and “Labyrinth”.

With numerous national and international awards, this artist exhibited his work in different biennials around the world such as the Brighton Biennial in England, the Daegu Photo Biennial in South Korea, the Ballarat International Photography Biennial in Australia and Bienalsur in Argentina. He also exhibited at numerous festivals such as the New York Photo Festival (U.S), the festival Paraty in Focus (Brazil), the wild eye (Paraguay), Nordic Light Festival (Norway), Northern Lights Festival (Holland), Goa International Photography Festival (India), el Lumix Festival for Young Photojournalism (Germany), Cortona on the Move Festival (Italy) y el Tokyo International Photography Festival.
