From 27 from May to 3 July, the Gachi Prieto gallery will carry out the first individual exhibition of the artist Florencia Almirón.

“Reino Pretérito” is the name of this exhibition that can be enjoyed in person - complying with health protocols and by appointment.- from Tuesday to Friday (from 14 until 18.30).

The sample is made up of the recent sculptures, ceramics and a photographic mural, that reflect the artist's exploration of the relationship between living and inert bodies, exploring the survival instinct in a habitat on the edge of the abyss.

In that context, the constant transformation of matter results in a hybrid between manual, the industrial and the natural. The title of the exhibition anticipates a petrified time and the life-death cycle as a material whole.

The artist carries out a work that is developed through different media such as sculpture, the video, the photography and installations that he achieves thanks to an experimental process. As a starting point use the body, the psychology of the unconscious and fiction, to explore modes of power articulation in relation to survival narratives and stories of inequity. Almirón constantly explores the transformation of matter, obtaining as a result a hybrid between manual and industrial and natural.

Almirón has shown his work individually and in groups at the Württembergischer Kunstverein (Stuttgart, Germany), difference (Buenos Aires, Argentina), Sonsbeek Biennial (Arnhem, Holland), The Big Glass Gallery (Córdoba, Argentina), National House of the Bicentennial (Buenos Aires, Argentina), Urbana (Buenos Aires, Argentina), Reykjavik National Museum (Iceland), Märkisches Museum (Witten, Germany), Hildesheim Art Association (Germany), Mathew Bown Gallery (Berlin), Souterrain Gallery (Berlin), Regret Gallery (Prague), Yellow Brick (Athens, Greece), Institute for Provocation (Beijing), Siemens Sanat Contemporary Art Center (Istanbul), Biennial of Young Art (Buenos Aires), BSM (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and London Biennial (Shore studios, Berlin).
