This Sunday 4 September is the release date of Homero Manzi, color sudestada. A work of Leonardo Nápoli that can be enjoyed in Caras y Caretas room.

Being an Argentine popular icon of the 30 Y 40, we wanted to know more about their look today, why we interviewed Nápoli, Pre-Release.

How did this project?

This production is a project that has few years, where we work with Jose Luis Castiñeiro of God and Fernando Mutante. Everyone was taking their part in building the book, grammar structure and construction of the dialogue and, music and lyrics.

The novelty has this look that we, it is not intended or to be better or worse than the others which have been made, It is that we do not have that archaeological reconstruction of the character, playing all his life issues; but we took the challenge of inspiration in his work, because we are heirs of all that Argentine culture. There grabbed the responsibility to make all this work and bring it to new generations.

It is a view from the other side, somehow we deepen Homero Manzi in that, at least in my eyes, We did not know.

What do you know Homer?

I knew the South Homer or Malena, Mariano Mores, Sebastián Piana and Troilo, Man film, to sit. I did not know who had been deeply Homer Radical Civic Union, the man who was imprisoned and saw Severino Di Giovanni they shot, he was imprisoned for being yrigoyenista and had prison and persecution.

These are things that we Encroach us as we work book.

Homer has been the man of his generation who has lived quite possibly more intensely those years of political. And again there is little written material from his poetry of that, beyond the Milonga del Novecento, where he says he was a man of Leandro Alem.

What surprised you at the time of study?

After reading some notes of his close friend Arturo Jauretche, with whom he shared from the faculty until his death, He said Homero Manzi was mixed with atorrante intellectual neighborhood '. To me that, as a playwright, I drew a lot of attention. What it was that to be a very special mix?

Another thing was seeing a boy how we would see today. Having 39 years and tell you that you're going to die from cancer, also it proved to be very rough. It's something that would be devastating for any of us, However the, beyond the shock it means to receive news like, It had its moment of greatest work at that time. At that time he founded SADAIC and had his film production. He did all that with their days numbered.

He had terrible conversations with doctors, since Dr. Ramon Carrillo told him he had cancer in the intestines and then each of the treatments. He made the impossible always to add a day to your life.

How Homer find public?

Homero Manzi a vital, human and away from cartonería. They will see a man who lives his beloved, their conflicts and passions with that. mish, because it is not easy to him. He is a man with his vices, a player, a type of night. He was not a Discalced Carmelite. He was a man who lived the Buenos Aires night.

How it is included in the work Juana, Malena and Casiana?

All these characters are made by Roxana Fontan and represent three women in his life gravitated. In all his work, unless I'm gone some detail, the appointing one person in concrete existence: Juana. A woman who lived in Pompeii, I had a Basque surname and both saw each. The name it as "Juana, the blonde who both loved. Does he know that both suffer from the afternoon I left?”. This writes the 20 years later, as this was a love that had the 15 years.

After his wife was, Casilda Iñiguez Vildósola, with whom he had a son whom we Acho and in the work we name as Casiana. She was a great woman, it will bank around.

Malena is not Nelly Omar. In this case we wanted, as authors, have the freedom of creation. As an example, the best of Juan Moreira was the legend of Juan Moreira; after, if it was a vague and bully ... are things in real life. We wanted to give life to this character.

Nelly Omar said she was Malena, but this was never confirmed by Homero Manzi and later appeared Malena Torterolo ... but you never knew well who was Malena, nobody said it neither confirmed. And that for the authors is an interesting thing that comes into the field of imagination. In that sense we wrote a Malena has much to do with that is similar to Nelly.

How did you see the Chino Laborde as Homer?

The truth was a mutual infatuation somehow. I did not know him as a person, yes as an artist. For me, Homer had to be a man who came from tango, I did not want any actor who could sing for him Whiteface.

When we get together we said that. A figure of tango, young and not stuffy in fact dressed as years 40. A guy who wanted to see the tango from the perspective of today.

The first thing he tells me is that the Chinese had nothing to do with Homer. And I told him I had to get people to believe it was the. He started rehearsing and appeared actor. He comes from the musical comedy and very experienced. He had a rigor with my character caught my attention. He changed his look and fattened a lot of kilos to look like the character. It will be very much in the picture, beyond the measure 1,85 and Homer was petiso (laughs).

How would the invitation for an audience that will work on a character who lived many years ago and there are many only know him by name?

It would be ... we will not know how this work, but we guarantee that people will gush argentinidad. It is a profound work, made from Argentina. It will be universal in many things, but squirts argentinidad.
