Lisbon presented its program for the 48th Buenos Aires Book Fair
With an event that took place on Thursday in the Golden Hall of the Ministry of Culture of the City, The European city announced its activities for the traditional meeting.
The presentation was attended by Alejandro Vaccaro, President of the El Libro Foundation; José Frederico Ludovice, ambassador of Portugal in Argentina and Gabriela Ricardes, Minister of Culture of the City.
Lisbon will be the Guest City of Honor of this edition that will take place as always at the La Rural property, of the 25 April to the 13 of May.
The event included the screening of a video presentation of the authors of the Lisbon delegation.
Then, Vaccaro thanked “the commitment of Carlos Moedas, president of the Municipal Chamber of Lisbon, and all the excellent professional team that makes possible the great display that Lisbon will have as a Guest City”, and especially highlighted “the importance of the enormous delegation of writers that will be part of the cultural programming of our Fair.”.
Ambassador Ludovice, For his part, he expressed “This invitation, which greatly honors us, constitutes a unique opportunity to promote a bath of culture between the cities of Lisbon and Buenos Aires.”, and maybe between Portugal and Argentina, during the weeks of the Book Fair to show the essence of who we are through the book”.
“The literary links between Buenos Aires and Lisbon are enormous. I think it is wonderful that in this edition 48 of the Book Fair highlights that they are two cities twinned by their bookstores. Buenos Aires and Lisbon are identified by this quality of approach they have towards their readers., to its writers and bookstores, to access your library network, to the possibility that both cities offer, full of entrance doors so that people can approach the books”, expressed Gabriela Ricardes, Minister of Culture of the City.
The act, also, It was attended by the work teams of the El Libro Foundation and the Ministry of Culture of the City.
