The fourth edition of the Luz del Desierto Festival arrives this Thursday and will run until 11 October, offering quality programming that can be enjoyed online for free.

The Festival will have a competition for feature films and short films and a non-competitive section of quarantined shorts. In addition to being able to attend specialized talks on audiovisual topics, Users will be able to enjoy a spotlight with a gender perspective whose selection was made by the MUA group of Audiovisual Women, a focus of the Guayaquil International Film Festival and a focus of the America International Film Festival.

Total, 8 movies and 21 Short films selected in the open call may be viewed for free on the platform during 4 days.

The Official Selection of National Feature Films is made up of the fictions "Neither hero nor traitor" (to you. Nicolás Savignone), “Far from us” (to you. Laura Bierbrauer y Verena Kuri) and "Toxic" (to you. Ariel Martinez Herrera); and the documentaries "Pepelito" (Sebstián Juvenal) and "Schurjin, the painter" (to you. Martin Vaisman).

Mariana larrosa), “Conventillo” (to you. Lucia Horvath), "Little gigants; against all odds" (to you. Leandro E. Sow), "Moon night" (to you. Thomas Morelli), "Hostile city" (to you. Joaquin Echeverria) and "The color of Jacaranda" (to you. Corina Lopez Roach).

International short film competition features stories from England (“The Beekeeper” – Dir. William Mcgregor), France (“Two options” – Dir. Gon Caride), U.S (“Planting Earth Week” – Dir. Brian Ryu), Mexico ("All fires" - Dir. Victor Giovanni Moreno Mejía), Colombia ("Cell thieves" - Dir. Juan Martin Sanchez) and Italy (“Close your eyes and look at me” – Dir. Andrea Castoldi).

There are three works in the quarantined shorts section: “Stay home, stay safe, stay sane?"From director Nicholas Hales, "To be there (To be- There)”By director Fernando Rodríguez and“ Omaira, the seller of joys ", from the director Santiago Alejandro Muñoz Marrugo.

Every day you can see a short from the MUA selection of short films from the Audiovisual Women's Association. Among them "The cure of horror" (to you. Mariana rojas), "Fireworks" (to you. Gisela Corsello) and "Sprouts" (to you. María Paulina Henao Grisales).

The focus of the International Film Festival of America will feature the short films "Jaanpäätt" (to you. Luz Maria Cardenal) and "One last hug" (to you. Yeisson Johavanny García Sánchez). At the same time, users will be able to enjoy two Ecuadorian shorts in the focus of the Guayaquil International Film Festival: "Chigualo" (to you. Christian Rojas) and "Huaca" (to you. Diego Ortuño).

The films and short films will be available from 00 of the scheduled date for 48h. The jury is made up of professionals from the audiovisual environment such as Sandra Iurcovich, Marco Berger, Amparo Aguilar and Camilo Moreira Biurra, among others. During the days of the festival there will be different talks live on Instagram on topics of general interest to the community.

The Festival was declared of Cultural Interest by the Senate of the Nation. Carried out by the independent producer and distributor Km Sur, this edition has the support of INCAA, MUA Audiovisual Women, DOCK (Argentine Documentalists), AAC (Association of Colorists of Argentina) and RAFMA (Argentine Network of Festivals and Audiovisual Samples).
