The tenth edition of Espanoramas arrives with the best of Spanish cinema

Of the 3 al 13 In October the tenth edition of Espanoramas will be held, the Spanish film exhibition that comes to Buenos Aires thanks to the Spanish Embassy and the Spanish Cultural Center in Buenos Aires (comb).

This year, The event promises a unique selection of films that represent both classic and modern Spanish cinema., with screenings in the Leopoldo Lugones Room of the Buenos Aires Theater Complex and in the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (PAINTING).

“Península Erice” will be presented in the Leopoldo Lugones Room, a selection curated by Fran Gayo that pays tribute to director Víctor Erice. Recognized as one of the fundamental pillars of Spanish cinema, His work includes iconic titles such as “The Spirit of the Hive” (1973), "On" (1983), “The sun of the quince” (1992) and “Close your eyes” (2023). Lesser known works will also be screened, like the medium-length film “The Lost Days” (1963), which was his degree project at the Official School of Cinematography, and short films like “Alumbramiento” (2019) y “The Red Dead” (2006). further, “Historic Center” will be exhibited (2012), a collective film in which Erice participated, along with Spanish films influenced by his cinema, as “Nine Letters to Berta” (1966), in a version restored by the Spanish Film Archive.

In parallel, in MALBA, The screening of a series of films selected by Diego Trerotola will take place under the title “Classics and Moderns”. This curatorship proposes a tour of works that span from the decade of 1950 until the eighties, exploring the evolution of Spanish cinema through directors like Luis Buñuel, Luis García Berlanga, Carlos Saura, Pedro Olea, Jesús Franco and Narciso Ibáñez Serrador. Films that marked Spain's democratic transition will also be highlighted., like those of Pedro Almodóvar and Antonio Suárez.

Espanoramas has established itself as a space that is committed to diversity and quality in its programming, seeking to strengthen cultural ties between Spain and Argentina. The exhibition continues to be a meeting point for film lovers, offering the public the opportunity to enjoy films in their original format, in film.

Tickets will be available both at the ticket offices of the respective theaters and on their websites.. The prices are $4000 for the functions in the Lugones Hall and $5000 for screenings at MALBA.
