A new edition of Art Week arrives in the City

Between 27 August and 3 September the City of Buenos Aires will receive a new edition of the Art Week, in collaboration with the Medifé Foundation.

This proposal, that will present a total of eight winning projects chosen through a call that took place between 5 and the 29 of May, represents an annual meeting where the urban landscape of Buenos Aires is transformed into a space for contemporary art.

Each of these chosen works can be seen at different points located in the Microcentro and the Arts District. For this edition, The Evaluation Committee was made up of specialists Sebastián Vidal Mackinson, contemporary art curator and researcher; Veronica Gomez, visual artist winner of Art Week 2022; and Juan Pablo Vacas, architect and Undersecretary of Urban Landscape.

Likewise, as novelty, a special distinction will be announced for the first time, which this year will be provided by the Cultural Center of Spain in Buenos Aires (comb) as "35 years to the production of works of art".

Within this context, this award will be for one of the eight winning projects, being the selection criteria to be in line with the values ​​that the CCEBA promotes.

This year's winning projects belong to Ramiro Quesada Pons, Mendoza artist who created "The intercessors", an installation of sculptures that can be seen in Galerías Jardín; Mariela Life, creator of the installation “Here they have planted flowers” ​​from La Plata, expuesta en la Plazoleta Juvenilia.

There will also be Ana Vogelfang, Buenos Aires creator of the installation "Mobile Walls", located in the La Cisterna Archaeological Site; Alfio Demester, native of the City of Buenos Aires who developed the installation "Robotic Drawing Performance" located in the Mercado de los Carruajes; Mariano Giraud, Buenos Aires artist who will exhibit his performance installation of sculptures “ACF-202” at Colón Fábrica; the mercedino Camilo Guinot will exhibit his installation "Portal" in the Ex Banco de Tokyo.

For his part, Nicolás Martella from La Plata will participate in the meeting with his installation "El paraíso de los creedes" in Galerías Larreta and finally, the artist from Buenos Aires Renata Molinari will participate with his installation "Humor Vitreo" located in Galerías Pacífico.

Guided visits

It should be noted that during Art Week more than 100 activities that will take place in the different institutions that will be part of this fourth edition of the proposal.

On the other hand, Guided walking tours will be carried out to learn about each of the eight selected projects every day, under the curatorship of Victoria Cobos. There will also be visits aimed especially at older adults and children and accessible visits in LSA (Argentine Sign Language).
