On Friday 23 In October the museums and art spaces of our country will illuminate their facades in order to remember the role of these spaces, affected by the absence of visitors since the beginning of the pandemic.

This symbolic action will begin at 20 hours and in turn an invitation will be extended to the public to visit each of the virtual exhibitions that these venues offer, both from their official sites and on their social media accounts.

The initiative was organized by the Argentine Network of Museums and Art Spaces (COPPER), jointly with Fundación Proa, Painting, the National Museum of Fine Arts and the Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires, to which public and private institutions joined.

According to the entity's statement, that each one of the venues that exhibits its fully illuminated facades will mean "transmitting in this gesture the essential and fundamental contribution of art for the expansion of public space and for the reconstruction of social ties in our communities".

At the same time, This action will be accompanied by the proposal #MuseosAbiertas, a common agenda of activities by the founding museums, where visitors will be summoned for different activities that will take place from Friday 23 until Sunday 25 October.
