The Rolling Stones kick off their 60th anniversary tour
Eternal and stainless and, especially, full of rock and roll, The Rolling Stones kicked off the European leg of their iconic British band's 60th anniversary tour.
The Wanda Metropolitano de Madrid was the setting for the kick off that had several emotions, like the constant mentions of Charlie Watts, the deceased drummer in 2021. As for the song list, was wide and satisfied the fans who sang all the hits, there was even time for “out of time”, performed for the first time live.
“Street fighting man”, the theme included in the album “Beggars banquet” by 1968 was chosen for the beginning of the concert, seguida de “19th nervous breakdown” y “Sad sad sad”.
histrionic as always, Mick Jagger continues to show why to his 79 years is still one of the most important frontmen in the history of music, dancing constantly and haranguing the public that filled the stadium.
As usually happens in his last concerts, the band offers the public the possibility of choosing one of the songs from the repertoire and for the occasion the chosen one was “Beast of burden”, the classic included in the album of 1978 “Some Girls”.
In his face-to-face meeting with the public, guitarist Keith Richards chose to sing "Happy" and "Slipping away", the beautiful ballad released on the Steel Wheels album (1989).
“Start me up”, “Paint it black”, “Sympathy for the devil” and “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” were in charge of closing the list of songs, before the definitive goodbye with “Gimme shelter” and “(I can´t get no) Satisfaction”.
The band now has a series of concerts that will last until 31 of July, with a closing in the Friends Arena, in the Swedish city of Stockholm. Before they will be in Germany, England, Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Belgium, Austria and France.
