Works belonging to Marta Lamas, referent of Mexican and regional feminism, were brought together by CLACSO to offer an anthology of fundamental writings.

“Dimensions of difference. Gender and politics" is the work in which dialogues are offered with different figures, times and spaces of feminism about what it really means to be a man or a woman, obey or violate mandates, struggle, exist and think as feminists, beyond identity.

Lamas is one of the most representative voices of the feminist movement and the defense of women's rights in Mexico and Latin America., that in this publication aims to answer that fundamental question and many others, from different perspectives.

The work maps and makes a critical balance of the real incidence of Latin American feminist research in social sciences and humanities.. further, describes the questions and debates of feminist anthropology, as well as trace a genealogy of the gender category. He questions the relationship between the social and the psychic from his interventions on sexual politics, that is to say, disputes over the meaning of sexuality and reproduction, and its relationship with power.

Other themes present: the division of labor, gender equality and quality of life; the sex trade; feminist position on sexual harassment; the abortion (in Mexico, Uruguay and Argentina); disagreements and arguments of feminisms; the postponement of motherhood and bioethics.
