The latest admissions of works to the Fine Arts are exhibited from today

From Tuesday 20 September the National Museum of Fine Arts exhibits a selection of works belonging to twelve national artists recently donated to the entity.

In total, the sample has thirteen achievements under the name "Last admissions", that can be seen in the room 33 from the first floor of the traditional Buenos Aires area to the 6 of November, free admission.

these works, that were incorporated into the Museum between 2017 Y 2021 contemplate paintings, drawings, inks and photographs of outstanding Argentine artists of the 20th and 21st centuries such as Afredo Prior, Mirtha Dermisache, Juan Grela, Tulio De Sagastizabal, Ernest Ballesteros, Charlie Nijensohn, Juan Del Prete, Naomi Gerstein, Alfredo Hlito, Edward Moisset of Spain, Annemarie Heinrich and Aldo Sessa.

In the words of the director of the Fine Arts, Andrew Duprat, “Since its foundation, in 1896, the collection of the National Museum of Fine Arts grew through donations and acquisitions, and currently reaches a number greater than 13.000 pieces, figure that makes it one of the most important visual memories of our country”. In turn, the director indicated that the exhibition "presents a selection of the latest admissions".

Duprat explained that some of these works “were donated by their authors or their descendants., others by collectors and others by Friends of Fine Arts, in this case together with Banco Ciudad, thanks to the shared funds program promoted by ArteBA”.

For this reason, from the Museum “we thus express our gratitude to the donors and, at once, we account to society for the pieces that make up this valuable public heritage”, ended.

Among the works on display, You can see two photographs entitled "Plastic exercise", taken by Heinrich in the famous mural; “Composition No. 4, an ink on paper by Del Prete (1950); another work of Grela, in tempera (1956); an ink on paper by Gerstein (1956) and another from Hlito (1975); the diptych “Fire in the mountains” by Prior (1997) and an ink on paper by Dermisache (ca. 1997-2006).

They are added, already 21st century, the photograph “Silos. Madero Port", registered by Sessa in 2001; acrylic on paper “Nothing happens twice, n.° 12”, by De Sagastizabal (2003); ink on paper “Generating closed line plus additional squares” (2010), by Moisset de Espanés; Nijensohn's diptych of images entitled “The cycle of intensity #6060 (Bolivia)” (2017), and the triptych “Action Drawing”, made in pencil by Ballesteros (2018).

This exhibition can be visited from Tuesday to Friday from 11 a 20 or Saturdays and Sundays 10 a 20.
