Conceived by Sophie Treadwell, this piece is told in nine scenes or “episodes”, drama of expressionism.
Within that context, the story will be set in an office where Hellen works (or young woman). There you can hear the rattle of the machines as the office workers move slowly with their typewriters, adding machines, permanently.
In his account, Treadwell does not name almost all the characters, but rather identifies them by their jobs (for example, phone girl or file clerk); the dialogue is staccato rhythm and full of clichés and repetitions; and the plot of the story is episodic, with each episode representing a mode of female repression.
Each of the nine episodes that make up the work represent typical elements or passages from the life of a working woman in the first part of the century. 20.
The play features performances by Paola Sanabria, Estela Kiesling, Julian Mardirosian, Max Acavallo, Claudius Favieri, Estefanía Gulla, Walter Fauve, Nicole Nunez Silva, Julia Tapia, Mario De Luca and Isabel Guerra Marfull; in addition to the voice-overs by Lucila Iglesias, Benicio Fernandez, Valentina Machado and Carlos Benincasa.
